Economics major considers a wide range of topics: market analysis, asset market, financial systems, economic recession, economic development, labor market, tax system, fair competition, economic laws, etc. Economics is analytic, logical, and scientific in nature; through studying economics, students can view society with acute mathematical insight. Microeconomics |
Students explore the financial choices of individual economic players such as household economics and business economics. Students also delve into advanced courses such as game theories, industrial organizations, financial economy, advanced microeconomics, economics and ICT, etc.

Macroeconomics and Econometrics |
In this track, students explore monetary flows of a larger scope. It includes courses on international finances, economic development, econometrics, etc.

Mathematics and Economics |
Economics major students are encouraged to study mathematics. Courses like linear algebra, mathematical analysis, and differential equations and applications are essential to economics, especially for students who are looking forward to entering economics graduate schools.

Visit International Financial Market |
It’s a specialty program designed to cultivate economics professionals who can read the flow of the international financial market. Students can visit financial organizations with professors and meet experts who are working in the professional field for deeper understanding and insight into economics. |
With Seniors and Alumni |
Students can register for academic societies to interact with alumni who have recently worked in institutions such as Bank of Korea and Export-Import Bank of Korea, learn more from professors, and make study groups with Economics major seniors or classmates. |
Mentoring System |
Students who are not familiar with economics can get help from mentoring systems. The student board of Economics major is running a mentor matching program, where mentors and mentees meet individually to teach and learn. Also, Economics major recruits Teaching Assistants (TAs) to give academic help to those who are struggling with their studies. |
Advisor Professor System |
Students with Economics as their 1st major can apply for the Advisor Professor program. Through this program, students can meet their advisor professor regularly, ask questions, dive into advanced topics, search for job opportunities, get help for graduate schools, etc. |
Career Aspects
After graduating from economics, students can look to get hired or proceed with their academics. They can enter economics graduation schools to study economics deeply, or they can work in corporate planning departments or participate in corporate decisions in a consultant company. Since economics student has the capability to see the economic environment of corporations and the market overall, they usually participate in major decisions in planning departments.
