Institute for Entrepreneurship Innovation, an institution under Handong Global University, as a part of Korea-UNDP Scientific Technology South-South Cooperation Project, hosted Global Entrepreneurship Workshop 2019 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, part of Village Innovation Program (VIP).
Global Entrepreneurship Workshop is supported by Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), and in cooperation with Indonesian Government and Dutta Wacana Christian University, a local sister school of HGU. VIP is Village Innovation Program of Indonesian Government, similar to that of Saemaeul Movement in Korea, supporting development of local villages in Indonesia.
For this workshop, approximately 80 people from Indonesian Central Government agencies, provincial government and village government workers, many villagers that are part of the Project, learning and putting into practice Entrepreneurship and Corporate Law, Finance and Accounting, Business Ethics, and others. Also, they practiced with ideas from currently ongoing Consortium Operations and other business ideas, ultimately doing an presentation of operation plan and awards ceremony.
Ki-Hong Kim, Head of HGU’s Institute for Entrepreneurship Innovation, said “Handong Global University is trying to share Entrepreneurship Education between Indonesia and Cambodia in order to contribute to the South-South Development (amongst developing countries) that is preferred by United Nations’ OSSC Department based on entrepreneurship training over the past three years and to provide solutions to the sustainability and repeatability of these development projects even after the two countries’ interest in the program ends.”
Meanwhile, Handong Global University has opened Major in Global Entrepreneurship since 2007 and hosted Global Entrepreneurship Training Program in developing countries for the past 13 years as a leading university of UNESCO-UNITWIN program.
