HGU signs MOU with KOTRA in Silicon Valley

Handong Global University (President Chang Soon-Heung) embarks on a new journey in Silicon Valley, a well-known place of various start-up and unicorn companies.

 

On 26th August, HGU signed MOU with KOTRA Silicon Valley Foreign Trade. 

 

The ceremony was held in Foreign Trade Oregeon Room and President Chang, chief secretary Ji Hyun Kim, Professor Kwon Seok Won, Foreign Trade manager Lee Young-Kyi, conductor Park Hyung-dong, Silicon Valley IT Support Center manager Kim Jung Woo attended the ceremony. 

 

With this agreement, both institutions support Handong’s global technology and global start-up programs.

KOTRA Silicon Valley Foreign Trade will seek close cooperation for HGU expansion to Silicon Valley.

 

With this agreement, both institutions will closely work together in▲Industrial-Academic cooperation using HGU research capacity ▲support program development for Handong students and alumni’ startups in Silicon Valley and ▲Global Center in Silicon Valley. Also, they will continue to have a close cooperation in other programs such as sharing contents of both institutions, networking programs for domestic, global cooperation and other global startup areas.

Also, President Chang met a Handong alumni who is currently studying in Silicon Valley. President Chang has been closely paying attention to K-Move which encourages young people to move abroad for opportunities. This MOU puts emphasis on close cooperation between KOTRA internship program and HGU.

Different from other KOTRA foreign trade branches, KOTRA Silicon Valley foreign trade manager Lee is in charge of IT Support Center. He explained that favorable conditions are ready for startup companies to grow on a globalized scale through a close cooperation with KCI. And he remarked, “I’m looking forward that talented young students will enter the United States and contribute to the Korean society abroad.”
