Students Do-hyun Lee, Ji-min Yoo and Eun-sung Park of Handong International Law School won the 11th International Humanitarian Law mock trial contest held at Seoul National University's Graduate School of Law on Monday. Co-hosted by the Korean Red Cross and the International Committee of the Red Cross, the main competition was conducted under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Justice and in cooperation with the Seoul National University Center for Public Human Rights Law.
The competition was held to reaffirm the importance of the Humanitarian Law through legal approaches and disputes over the application of the law on humanitarian issues arising in times of armed conflict such as wartime. In particular, it seems to have served as an opportunity to address the direction of the Humanitarian law from the perspective of international law and law of war in the special reality of our country, the inter-Korean standoff.

Professor Hee-eon Lee, who coached the team, also thanked the faculty of Handong International Law School, saying, "I am happy to have achieved good results based on oral defense classes taught at school."
