(Photo 1) Commemorative Picture in Opening the Regional Center for Entrepreneurship in Southeast Asia

IEI, an institution under Handong Global University as part of Korea-UNDP Scientific South-South Cooperation Mission, opened Regional Center for Entrepreneurship in the South-East Asia on September 20^th, 2019.

This center has opened with support from Ministry of Science and ICT and United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) and cooperation with Dutta Wacana Christian University.

IEI currently supports Village Development Program of Indonesian Government, a program geared at helping the development of thousands of local villages in Indonesia. They also hosted Village Innovation Program for a week in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from August 19, 2019.

Assistant Director Romatula Prianto of National Development and Planning Bureau, in charge of helping this project on behalf of the Central Government of Indonesia said, “This Center will become a great help towards this current project that we are working in cooperation with South Korean government in spreading Entrepreneurship and leading the trial technologies towards creation of start-ups. Congratulations once again in opening of this Center.”

Professor Ki-Hong Kim of HGU, head of IEI said, “Handong Global University, for the past three years, based on the foundation of Entrepreneurship training in Cambodia and Indonesia to contribute towards South-South Cooperative Development (within Developing Nations) that is aimed by UNOSSC, by allowing Indonesia and Cambodia to share and cooperate Entrepreneurship Education within them, and we hope that this Center will continue supporting Entrepreneurship Training and Start-Ups by establishing sustainability and replicability problems within the program.

Regional Center for Entrepreneurship in South-East Asia will continue to support even after end of this current project to allow for nations such as Indonesia and Cambodia to continue cooperating so that the program will continue to go on.
