Handong Global University (President Soon-Heung Chang) presented an exemplary award to Baek Dong-Seon, who is a student at the Global Leadership School who rescued three children from drowning.
Baek Dong-Seon found three children (4-year-old, 5-year-old, 7-year-old) drowning in water while helping a security guard at Hahoe Folk Village in Andong in July. Then he jumped into the water without any hesitation and rescued them, which made headlines.
On the last 11th, Handong Global University presented an exemplary award to him, saying, " He rescued three lives in accordance with the Handong spirit of love, humility and service during his volunteer work. This is a great example for other students and a great contribution to the honor of Handong Global University."

President Soon-Heung Chang of HGU, said, " Baek Dong-Seon received a very important award today. Handong Global University should become a life-saving mission university. That's why this award is more meaningful. I am proud of Baek Dong-Seon, who saved our neighbor's life.
Baek Dong-Seong expressed his feelings, “I am grateful that I was able to find and rescue the children from danger. Also, thank you for giving me such a meaningful award. I will try to become a Handong student who can promote Handong Global University proudly.”
