Handong Global University (President Soon-Heung Chang) held an online Design Sprint Camp for Nepal Pokhara University students and those from other affiliated universities.

Supervised under Professor Sung-Bae Cho, director of Startup Support Team, this camp is one of the programs of the Nepal Innovation Technology and Entrepreneurship Center (NITEC).

The camp was conducted on the online meeting platform ZOOM as offline communication is limited due to the COVID-19. The camp will serve as an effective entrepreneurship education for local university students of developing countries who are interested in IT based technology startups and will foster startup capacity of local citizens and improve local community development.

Through the five-day process for answering critical business questions through design, prototyping, and testing ideas with customers, participants were provided startup funds as they had to pick the best competitive item so that they can carry out the SW development.

Moreover, students had an opportunity to monitor their targeted audience based on their prototype business items and they can decide if they would like to run it in to an actual business. Through this, the failure rate of young entrepreneurs is expected to decrease.

Participants from Nepal local universities will have team activities in regard to business strategies and IT based solutions for various local problems. Students with the best performance, will be supported as they develop their prototype and launch their IT based business item into actual practice.
