Handong Global University (President Soon-Heung Chang) has been awarded the title of 'Superior University in the Area of International Capacity' during the 2020 University Award hosted by the University News Network, held on October 22nd, 2020 at Plaza Hotel, Seoul.
University Award by the University News Network is selecting and awarding superior universities in ten (10) fields, including the areas of University Improvement and Future Education Innovation.
Handong Global University was highly regarded for contributing towards the improvement of international capacity, by opening the first specialized educational center in the world of its field, such as UNAI Ban Ki-moon Institute for Global Education (IGE) and Kim Young-Gil GRACE School, and launching specialized programs, in focus to 'Whole-Person Global Citizenship Education'.

On the award ceremony, Dr. Jae-Chun Won, Dean of Office of International Affairs, in delivering the acceptance speech, "Handong Global University has been working to improve international capacity since the establishment of the University, based on character education." He added, "Handong Global University has prepared a platform to become the center of Global Citizenship Education by opening the UNAI Ban Ki-moon Institute for Global Education (IGE) and Kim Young-Gil GRACE School."
President Soon-Heung Chang said, "Handong Global University, through its Kim Young-Gil GRACE School, is operating the whole-person Global Citizenship Education, and working to raise talents with global perspective." He added, "We will actively raise talents with the problem-solving ability in the neighborhood, and further in the substantial problems of the world."
