Handong Global University (President Soon-heung Chang) hosted from 11.2~6 the ‘Building Information Modelling’ camp for undergraduate students of Yangon Technological University in Myanmar as part of the Handong Global University-UNESCO UNITWIN joint curriculum.
This camp was conducted with the aim of strengthening the information management and decision-making processes necessary in building design and construction.
In this camp, Professor Ho-Young Kang of Texas A&M, a world-renowned scholar in the field of architectural information modeling, taught how to use building information modeling in architectural design and construction planning through the remote video conferencing program Google Meet, and even covered how to deepen the use of building information modeling for risk management.

Students who participated in this camp listened to general lectures on architectural information modeling and gave team presentations of their results following participation in a tutoring session led by 5 Handong University students.
Professor Ho-Young Kang of Texas A&M said, “It was my pleasure to introduce Myanmar students to methods for using building information modeling, methods which are required by the international construction industry today. I hope this camp will serve as an opportunity for leaders rise up and lead the international construction industry of Myanmar.”

Myanmar Yangon Technological University senior, Htet Myat Wai, said, “By participating in this camp, I was able to learn architectural information modeling that I could not learn in Myanmar and learn how to use it. Thank you for your kind lectures and tutoring, and if there is such a camp in the future, I would like to actively participate again.”
* “Building Information Modeling,” like keywords such as machine learning and artificial intelligence associated with the modern era of the 4th industrial revolution, is a topic that is rapidly emerging across the ACE (Architecture, Engineering-Civil, Urban, Construction) industry.
* UNITWIN (University Twinning and Networking) was established by UNESCO in 1992 with the aim of helping universities in developed countries support education and research institutes in developing countries through forming networks with universities in developing countries and thereby reducing knowledge gaps and nurturing self-reliance of developing countries.
