On the 21st, 2 p.m., Handong University (President Jang Soon-heung) will hold the 9th Handong Startup Competition (RPM).

RPM has been held since 2014 and marks its 9th anniversary this year, with the aim of creating innovative ideas within a few minutes of presentation given by the acronym, 'Revolution Per Minutes'. 

The competition holds the theme of "Race," and the final 3 teams will be selected out of the 6 teams that went through the qualification round.

The six teams that went through the qualification round will advance to the final round with the topics of △ Products and services that control animal behavior to prevent geese, which cause problems in human living conditions, from settling on golf courses △ Ultra-personalized health care service that regularly encapsulates customized herbal teas using artificial intelligence △Educational services that help children improve their financial understanding through financial 'edutainment' applications so that they can manage their assets properly even as adults △Using water from water vapor in the air as agricultural water and with 5% of agricultural water, use it as an eco-friendly smart farm △AI coding education that allows people to enjoy coding through games even though they are not familiar with coding △ Offline kits and online monitoring services for people who are burdened with social awareness of psychotherapy.

Kim Geun-hwan, executive director of POSCO, Choi Chang-ho, executive director of KUDOS, Kang Beom-doo, a judge at Hanwha Plus, and Lee Won, a patent attorney at Geo Patent Law will be participating as the judges for this competition.

The selected top 3 teams will be awarded prizes, while the 1st place team will be given the privilege of going to Silicon Valley.

Jang Soon-heung, president of Handong University, said, "The process of starting a business that captures the knowledge and passion that you have learned in college is the best way to express the spirit of Handong from the beginning of school, and to give what you have learned to the people and society who need the most. This is the spirit of Handong Startup." 

This competition will be hosted by Handong University's start-up education support team and organized by the University Innovation Support Group and the Industrial-Academic Human Resources Development Agency to promote startups that can be a new growth power in Pohang.
