HGU (President Chang) signed an agreement for mutual exchange and cooperation with the Korean ASEAN Friendship Association (Chairman Jung Gyil Hong), an institution committed to establishing a global innovation institute in ASEAN countries. This event was held online.
In this signing ceremony, President Soon-Heung Chang, Chairman of KAFA Jung Gyil Hong, the founder of Minerva University Ben Nelson, and other members of the two institutions attended.

In accordance with the agreement, the two parties—HGU and KAFA— are joining forces to employ the Minerva educational model in order to educate and support talented students of ASEAN to become future leaders in ASEAN countries.
KAFA is working towards their goal of establishing a global innovation institution of higher education by 2022 through implementing the Minerva Project, which is taking the lead in global education innovation.
KAFA and HGU will work together to accommodate the Minerva educational model to meet the needs of students of ASEAN countries.
For students entering Global Innovation Institute, HGU will issue a degree and HGU faculty members will provide learning experiences based on the Minerva educational model.
President Chang remarked, “HGU has been paying close attention to the development of ASEAN countries, and has established and operated startup support centers in the major cities of ASEAN countries.”
The executive director of this project, Sung Gyi Baek, who also served as the former president of POSTECH, said, “Global innovation institute of higher education aims to resolve challenges of ASEAN countries by utilizing the strength of the Minerva Project,” and added, “We plan to establish campuses in the major cities of ASEAN, which will attract talented young adults who are interested in resolving regional challenges.”
The founder of Minerva School, Ben Nelson said, “I congratulate the first steps of HGU and KAFA towards the Minerva project. I hope that the two institutions will implement the Minerva educational model successfully, and we will support them along the way.”
