From February 22cnd to 26th, Handong Global University (President Soon-Heung Chang) hosted online the Next Generation Entrepreneurship Training program in cooperation with the Integrated Polytechnic Regional Center, Rwanda.
This program aimed to foster the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders for the economic development of the developing country and search for socially innovative solutions in Rwanda. The faculty members of Handong Global University supported 50 graduate school students at IPRC, Rwanda with entrepreneurship and start-up education through this program.

The participants of this program were provided theoretical education on the entrepreneurial mindset, accounting, marketing, business model development, corporation ethics, etc., as well as practical education including business plan designing and presentation.
President Soon-Heung Chang of Handong Global University said, “Entrepreneurship is what gives hope to citizens of developing countries and functions as the driving force of national development. I hope that the participants from Rwanda grow as next generation entrepreneurial leaders that contribute to their national economic development and lead Rwanda to peace and prosperity.”
Bum-Ha Ji, the director of this program and professor at the School of Management and Econoics, emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship saying, “Entrepreneurship allows people to overcome their limits by changing individual lives with proactiveness, innovativeness, and the spirit of challenge. Each individual after change will achieve practical outcomes, spread the entrepreneurial spirit to others, and eventually change the mindset of the citizens.”
Meanwhile, Handong Global University is planning to visit Rwanda to support partner institutions in becoming hub institutions for entrepreneurship education once the COVID-19 situation is stabilized.
