(Picture 1) Remote Conference held on the topic of university-level cooperation ideas between Handong Global University and Rwanda Polytechnic
Handong Global University (President Soon-Heung Chang) held a remote conference with the Rwanda Polytechnic on the topic of Education Cooperation as a part of the UNITWIN Program.
This remote conference was held as means of extension of the ‘2021 Rwanda Next Generation Entrepreneurship Training (NGET)’, and was participated by 12 people, including President Soon-Heung Chang of Handong Global University, Professor Beom-Ha Ji and Jin-won Ahn of School of Management and Economics, Handong Global University. Additionally, it was attended by President James Gashumba and Dean David Kabuye of Rwanda Polytechnic, where they discussed about continuous cooperative ideas for the raising of higher education talents.
The two universities performed the conference, based on the agreement of the fact that they need to bridge the gap on the intellectual property of Rwanda and discovered that they need to perform long-term education on technology based on the need of the local university.
President Soon-Heung Chang of Handong Global University said, “Handong Global University and Rwanda Polytechnic, despite the COVID-19 situation, switched major education programs, such as NGET to online methods to continue establishing a long-lasting relationship.”
President James Gashumba, President of Rwanda Polytechnic said, “We hope that this conference becomes a foundation for much more active exchanges between Handong Global University and Rwanda Polytechnic. Also, I hope to visit Handong Global University myself when the borders open back up to talk in more detail about the issue.”

Handong Global University, as means of a future detailed cooperation plan, will remotely support Electronic Journal, provide IoT Technology Camp, establish Handong Global University-Rwanda Joint Education Program, and will provide programs for capacity development for the young generation of Rwanda.
