(Picture 1) Handong Global University and World Holy City Movement signed a business agreement to support the education of alternative schools in churches for the cultivation of next generation of Christian leaders
Handong Global University (President Soon-Heung Chang) and the World Holy City Movement (CEO Sang-Bok Kim, Yong-Tae Jeon) agreed on May 7th, 2021 in the conference room on the 3rd floor of Torch Trinity Graduate University (Seoul) to cooperate in developing educational content and programs for alternative schools in churches, teacher training programs, etc. for the cultivation and development of the next generation of Christians.
At the signing ceremony, President Soon-Heung Chang of Handong University said, "The proportion of Christian students in Korea, which was close to 20%, has recently dropped to 3%" and that "Now, Korean churches have to directly take the initiative to foster the next generation. One of the good solutions is after-school programs and alternative schools."
Sang-Bok Kim, the CEO of the World Holy City Movement continued by saying, "Families, churches, and schools must work together for Christian children's education" and emphasized that "the church should actively take the lead in this."
Handong University established the VIC Elementary and Secondary Education Support Center (Director Yang-Gyu Je) in February to develop educational content and programs for church schooling and have been conducting teacher training. The World Holy City Movement recently established the Next Generation Committee (Chairman Hong-Ki Kim) and is putting effort into developing strategies and business promotion for the establishment of next-generation of Christians.
