The mission forum was held at Handong Global University (President Do Soung Choi) under the theme of ‘Total Mission through Emergency Relief.’ The forum is held on the third floor of the school’s Hyoam Annex every Tuesday for about an hour from noon to learn the needs of the region and cooperate with various majors.
At the recently held 10th forum, Anne. C Reitsema, international team leader of MEDAIR, an international emergency relief NGO in Switzerland, visited Handong Global University and introduced MEDAIR ministry, which is performing relief activities around the world, and gave a lecture on total mission work to introduce the needs of people in difficult situations.
Team leader Anne. C Reitsema, who came as a lecturer, said, “In 2021 alone, MEDAIR supported a total of 3,362,158 people in 13 countries, including Democratic Republic of Congo, Lebanon, Madagascar, and Syria through various projects such as providing housings to those who damaged by natural disasters and recognized as refugees, health and nutrition support, clean water and hygienic care. These activities require people who do various jobs. I hope students of Handong Global University would participate by utilizing their majors.”
Eunjin Nam (Senior, School of Contents Convergence Design), who attends the forum every week, said, “I am learning various mission works through this forum. I haven’t heard much about the total mission, but it was a memorable time to learn that good activities are another way to spread the gospel.”
