Midbar Co., Ltd. (CEO Chung Mo Seo), a resident company of Techno Business Incubator of Handong Global University (President Do Soung Choi), was selected as one of the 2022 UAE Food Tech Challenge Top 30 companies. The UAE Food Tech Challenge is a global competition seeking next-generation agricultural technology solutions to solve food security in the UAE, marking its second anniversary this year. In this competition, the goal was to find innovative technological solutions to improve the resilience of the food supply chain in a dry and limited environment.
Midbar Co., Ltd. Is a start-up company that has moved into the Techno Business Incubator of Handong Global University and has participated in various programs of the Business Incubation Center, and its main item is “Aerophonics Air-Injected Air Farm Solution that can be easily grown anytime, anywhere.”

In the 2nd UAE Food Tech Challenge, they participated under the theme of cultivation technology ideas to preserve food security in desert countries and achieved a feat of being ranked in the top 30 out of 667 teams from 79 countries around the world. Midbar co., Ltd. Aims to provide agricultural solutions even in desert climates where water is scarce by utilizing its own air farm products and the ‘plant cultivation system using air-extracted water’ (water harvesting technology for plant cultivation in dry areas) patented by a local Israeli corporation. In relation to the solution, the Rural Development Administration’s ‘Patent Technology for the Rotation Type Underground Salt Water Atomization Spray Cultivation System’ was also transferred.
Since being selected for the TIPS project in 2021, Midbar Co., Ltd. has established an overseas corporation in Israel in August 2022, intending to carry out various activities around the world. In particular, in November 2022, it was selected for the TIPS overseas marketing support project and received 100 million won.
Meanwhile, the UAE is making various efforts to discover innovative food and agricultural technology solution as part of the ‘2051 National Food Security Strategy’ plan to achieve No.1 in the world food security index.
