On May 31st, Handong Global University (President Dosoung Choi) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Calvin University of the United States to foster cooperation and mutual development.
This MOU extended the initial 2001 agreement and expanded cooperation in the areas of education, research, and academics, including △student and faculty exchange, △joint research projects, △cultural exchange programs, △exchange of publication and information, and △other research activities.
The signing ceremony was held at Handong Global University. In attendance were President Dosoung Choi of Handong, President Wiebe Boer of Calvin, Vice President for Academic Affairs Hae-Kyeong Park, Vice President for Globalization Eric Enlow, and others.
During the ceremony, President Choi said, “It is increasingly becoming important for Christian universities to strengthen cooperation and move forward together. Considering this, Handong and Calvin will be an important example of partnership.”
In response, President Wiebe Boer quoted a Nigerian proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” He added, “I hope that our two universities will be able to deepen cooperation in the future.”
Calvin University is a high-ranking, prestigious private Christian university established in 1876 in the state of Michigan. It has over 3,200 students and offers more than 100 majors and programs.
