- The voluntary marathon event, where students of Handong Global University initiated the participation of individuals with disabilities and non-disabled individuals, continues for the 15th consecutive year.

Handong Global University (President Do Soung Choi) held the 15th annual Love Marathon event on the 13th.
The Love Marathon is a community-sharing project where participants with disabilities from the Pohang area run the marathon course together with non-disabled volunteers. It is a special volunteer program that the students of Handong Global University initiated voluntarily and have been actively participating in for 15 years, fostering a strong bond with the local community.
Organized by Handong Global University and the Student Government, with the support of Handong Global University's Love Marathon TFT, the event carried the theme "A Day of Gathering Together with One Heart." It aimed to embody the values of love, humility, and service, which are the educational principles of Handong Global University, through the act of accompanying individuals with disabilities. The meaningful event received support and participation from various sponsors, including Pohang City, Eco-Pro Innovation Co., Ltd., and Miral Welfare Foundation.
The marathon started at 9 a.m. at the Hyoam Chapel staircase of Handong Global University and proceeded along the designated course within the campus, continuing until 5 p.m. More than 500 students of Handong Global University and over 500 individuals with disabilities from Pohang participated in the marathon. Encouraging one another, all the runners completed the round-trip 3km section.
In addition to the marathon, there were various booth programs, congratulatory performances, and stage events. The cheerleading team of Handong Global University and the sign language club "Soul" performed to cheer on the participants. Various experience booths, games, promotional booths, and other activities were also held, adding to the excitement of the event.
President Dosoung Choi, who attended the event, expressed his deep appreciation, saying, "It is very meaningful that Handong Global University can convey the love for the community and its residents through the warm service of its students. In the future, Handong Global University will continue to play a role as light and salt in creating a warm local community culture where people with and without disabilities can walk together with one heart.”
