ICT Engineering Mathematics This course was designed for students who want to derive basic mathematical concepts for applications of differential calculus and matrices, and stochastic programs. The course will cover some basic parts of differential calculus, linear algebra, and statistics to help the students get prepared to take more advanced engineering courses related to information and communication technologies (ICT) and machine learning (ML). The students will deal with basic engineering problems in ICT and ML mathematically and also solve these problems practically by implementing computer programs in the Python language through computational thinking. |
O | 3 | |
Human Factors and Ergonomics This course will provide an understanding of the human, computer, and those interactions and provides engineering practices for planning, designing, analyzing, and evaluating the implementation of an HCI system. |

AI-based Computer Vision Application This course will introduce the field of computer vision. Computer vision is related to extracting information from images. The major categories of tasks of computer vision and examples of applications from each category will be introduced. A specific emphasis will be on how to adopt machine learning and deep learning techniques to the field of computer vision. Python and various AI frameworks such as TensorFlow/PyTorch will be used for programming practice. |

Big-Data Analysis Welcome to the world of “Big Data”. Data science is to derive knowledge from "Big Data", efficiently and intelligently. For the next 16 weeks, students will learn about data science and practice a general data analysis pipeline of data acquisition, preparation, analysis, visualization and presentation. Students will also perform a data analytics project of their interest. |

Programming 1 This course is designed for the students who want to have the basic understanding on ICT and to develop fundamental programming skills. In order to lower the entry barriers into ICT, we use the Python programming language, which is known to be relatively easy to learn. The students will develop computational thinking and their ideas on programming concepts through this course while preparing the basics to take the next course, Programming II. |

Data Science This course is for the students with no programming and data analytics experience who do not know what to do with Big Data. We start from the very basics to learn data science from A to Z. We use R as an analytics tool which is one of most popular tools for data scientists. We learn from records to know about the present and the future. Students will prepare themselves to start their career as junior data scientists. |
