Credits

The number of credits for each course is based on the number of class hours per week. Standard courses are usually 3 credits, equivalent to 2.5 class hours per week.
- 1 course = ~3 credits
- 3 credits = 2.5 hours per week (2 classes)
- = 40 hours per semester

Requirements

Exchange students must take at minimum 3 credits and cannot exceed 22 credits per semester. OIA recommends exchange students to take about 12 ~ 15 credits per semester.

Accreditation

While exchange students will be able to receive credits for coursework conducted at HGU, the category and precise number of credits accredited depends on the Home Institution's policy. Please inquire directly to your Home Institution's Exchange Program Manager to gain the most accurate information.
For visiting students, please make an inquiry to your university staff whether coursework in HGU can be recognized.

ECTS Calculation

3 credits in HGU roughly correspond to 5 ~ 6 ETCS in European institutions of higher education. The precise number of credits accredited for HGU classes depends on the Home Institution's policy.

Grade Calculation

While attendance, quizzes, exams, projects, assignments, etc. are all considered, the final decision on the assessment criteria is decided by the class professor. Upon arriving at HGU, please be sure to read the class syllabus carefully in order to not receive any disadvantages. Also, students are required to attend at least 75% of classes, and failure to do so will result in an automatic fail.
